Christian Creek Wetland Mitigation | Jackson, WY

  • CLIENT:  Jackson Hole Airport & JViation

  • PROJECT TYPE: Wetland Mitigation

  • PROJECT LOCATION: Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

Wetland impacts associated with the expansion of the Jackson Hole Airport required that 0.3 acres of wetland be mitigated. WaterVation was hired by JViation and the Jackson Hole Airport to identify and develop a wetland mitigation plan in Grand Teton National Park (GNP). WaterVation worked with GTNP to identify a mitigation site that would result in the restoration of an impacted wetland instead of creating one where one did not exist previously. After the site was identified, WaterVation oversaw the installation of the telemetry-based groundwater monitoring system at the mitigation site to help inform the proposed grading plan. A custom grading plan was developed to blend into the native, undisturbed topography, in order to preserve the natural aesthetics. WaterVation then worked with GTNP ecologists to develop a revegetation plan that utilized on-site and native plans for mitigation.
