About WaterVation

Guided by a lifelong passion in stream restoration, Lucas Babbitt founded WaterVation in 2017. The dream for the company was to create a sustainable work environment for engineers and scientists with a shared goal of providing innovative approaches towards stream restoration, watershed planning, and water resources management. That dream has lead WaterVation to diverse environments requiring tailored designs for each setting; from highly urbanized landscapes, to remote mountain rivers, to lower plains streams, and more. WaterVation is regionally recognized stream restoration firm striving for excellence and innovation. Whether pioneering the use of large woody material in Southern Colorado or designing a natural stream diversion and fish passage pilot projects we’re always focused on positive project outcomes. WaterVation will continue to grow and support environmentally beneficial solutions to restoration and water resources challenges that meet our clients and partners vision.

Our work

Our lifecycle design processes consists of collecting our own field data, developing restoration designs, and construction oversight. Involvement in all three phases provided invaluable experience and ability to see through design and construction challenges. These experiences and lessons learned allow us to improve each subsequent design for enhanced constructability and sustainability.
